Lucey’s 1880 Farm – From Farm Orchards to Your Plate

Our farm, situated about five miles outside of Mallow, features orchards that produce apples for our apple tarts. We also keep hens that provide free-range eggs for our baking and have a large poly tunnel where we grow fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes and peppers throughout the year.

In addition, we cultivate fresh root vegetables, including beetroot, carrots, onions, and potatoes, which are used in the salads prepared in our deli. Throughout the year, we rear pigs on our farm, ensuring a consistent supply of quality pork.

Black Angus and Hereford Cattle

We also source Black Angus and Hereford cattle from a farm in Rathduff, Co. Cork, guaranteeing high-quality beef for our products.

Known for their superior genetics and exceptional meat quality, these breeds ensure that we consistently provide high-quality beef for our products. The Black Angus cattle are renowned for their marbling, which contributes to the tenderness and flavor of the meat, while Hereford cattle are prized for their robust, rich taste and fine grain.

We take great care in selecting and managing our cattle, adhering to stringent standards of animal welfare and sustainable farming practices. This commitment not only guarantees the highest quality beef but also supports ethical and environmentally responsible farming. Our customers can trust that every cut of beef from our farm is of premium quality, reflecting our dedication to excellence in every aspect of our production.

In the coming months, our goal is to further develop our farm and expand the range of produce available in our shop, enhancing the variety and freshness of our offerings.
